PLANTATION GOLF RESORT & SPACRYSTAL RIVER, FL One of Florida's "undiscovered" resorts, Plantation Golf Resort & Spa, can be found along a secluded corner of the Gulf Coast. Nearly every square foot of the 232-acre resort contains some form of recreational activity - 27 holes of golf, two lighted tennis courts, heated outdoor pool, volleyball, shuffleboard, and croquet. The hotel restaurant offers a daily a la carte breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For lighter fare, guests can try the Library Bar, the 19th Hole Grill, or the poolside Bar & Grill. Off-property activities include scuba diving, snorkeling, fishing, and boating along the Crystal River or on the Gulf of Mexico. The Crystal River has a year-round temperature of 72 degrees and is home to the largest concentration of manatees remaining in Florida. With all this and more, it's no wonder why many golfers will use this as a base of operations to play here as well as other great courses in the area. Both World Woods and Southern Hills Plantation are within easy driving distance. Make sure to make next trip to Florida one to remember with a stay at Plantation Golf Resort!

Golfer Comments
07/09/2010 - The plantation was very peaceful. It was clean and very neat. It was a pleasant place to come to, to relax after a good fun day of golf. Posted by Adam (Trenton, FL)
03/29/2010 - We stayed in the recently renovated building and the rooms were very nice. This is not a top teir hotel, but they do a great job treating their guests first class. The restaurant is surprisingly good, and the outside recommendations of restaurants was good as well. Posted by Mickey (Westport, CT)
04/05/2008 - Not too bad but not ideal room design and had to use pullout sofa. Posted by Nic (Stavanger, )
03/17/2008 - The condo we stayed in would have involved walking along a busy highway to get to the hotel itself and amenities. We had a small child along, and that walk was not possible. The condo itself was obviously old and had not been maintained very well. The kitchen was not equipped for actual use by tenants--there were not enough glasses, silverware, the pots and pans were inadeaquate. The living room furniture was worn and broken and not adequate for six people. There were only four dining room chairs and one was broken and unusable. Exterior doors did not work easily. The beds were nice and there was adequate hot water. Posted by Loretta (Washington, DC)
02/11/2008 - the Inn is "tired" Posted by Step (Mississauga, ON)
12/17/2007 - Golf condo furnishings could use a little updating. Posted by Herman (Mooresville, IN)
03/20/2007 - That "yes" for staying there again is more like "maybe". We've been going there for about six years and have always been happy with the experience. This year, things seemed different. The hotel bar closed most nights by 10pm, even when there were patrons in the bar. The cabana bar, which used to be open Friday thru Sunday, wasn't going to open until March 15th, except that they did open Saturday, but only because there was a wedding outside. On Thursday night, three of our golfers went to the dining room about 7:30pm to have dinner. They were told that they couldn't be served because the restaurant was full, even though there were only about eight tables occupied. On our last day, we had 8:30 tee times at their golf course. One of our guys went to the front desk Friday to see if we could check out a little later, so we could use the rooms to change before we left for the airport. The front desk clerk told him that wasn't possible, that there was a strict rule against late check-outs. He then asked to speak to the manager, who did allow it, as long as we guaranteed that we would be checked out by 1:00pm. None of these things were "deal breakers", but it seems to me that when you advertise yourself as a resort, you imply that you are more than just a hotel and that you are set up to cater to your guests. We left with the exact opposite impression. Posted by Craig (Jamestown, NY)
